When I was a kid chess was my life. Things were tough at home and after my dad died chess became everything. I studied and played in tournaments all through school.
I was captain of the Elyria High School chess team and then the Lorain County Community College team. Once I started working full-time as an adult I put chess on the back burner and didn't play seriously again until the early 90s when I played on The Cleveland Industrial Leagues.
The Industrial Leagues were great. I played on The German-American Team and had a great time.
I've always wanted a master rating. Currently my rating via the USCF (United States Chess Federation) is 1718.
This site will document my efforts in trying to get to a master level. I'm curious as to how far I can go.
